The leaking of Google’s new Nexus 7 tablet has come hours before the company presents it along with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in the event which will be held later today. Filtrations have been constant during this week but it was the Reddit user @evleaks who has unveiled the device. According to Android Police, the leaker was able to obtain a retail version of the product before anyone and published it. It is quite a story but what is important is that we have pictures and specs.
Made by Asus, the Nexus 7 will cost $229.99 with the 16 GB version and $269.99 with the 32 GB one, as Best Buy has put their pre-sale on their website. These are the specs of the product:
- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
- 7 inch IPS Screen with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution
- Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Processor at 1.5GHz
- GPU Adreno 320
- 5MP on the rear camera
- 1.2MP on the frontal camera
- SlimPort that permits HD video
- WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0
- 0.76 mm of width and 318 grams of weight
It also has been confirmed that the RAM will be of 2GB instead of the 4GB that was originally speculated. Apparently, the new Nexus 7 will be quite resistant incoporating some sort of technology that minimizes finger prints and scratches. Despite it seems that the device has nearly been fully leaked we will have to wait until this afternoon to see if Google has got any surprises for us.
