One of the most fun games back in 2011 was Noodlecake Studios’s Super Stickman Golf. Doodle fever wasn’t as bad as nowadays, to the extent that it was even considered a creative resource and somehow a signature of indie development. Anyway, the most important thing above all things on Earth was that it was insanely fun and people crowded the online leaderboards trying to beat absurd records as 20 under par. It was a wise mix of physics (or the lack of), golf (or the lack of) and careful design (guess what?) that achieved a crushing success.
It also served to bring NCStudios out from their bunker and play at ease in the green (oooh, what a pun) fields of mobile gaming.
On March 14th, SSG 2 will land on market. We have already played it and it’s by far better than we expected, because it has been kept faithful to its essence with only minor changes regarding design, but it comes with lots of gameplay improvements and tweaks, like an overdosed version of the original SSG. A ton of new levels, achievements, power ups AND (here’s a big “and”) equally important, new golfers AND (twice as big “and”) hats. Yes, you’ve read what we wrote: hats. There’ll be an asynchronous online game too, but who cares when there are HATS. Music has also been revamped and upcoming updates promise to be awesome (we know stuff you don’t, naninani-nana).
