What’s app, Line?
0Nowadays, we can’t conceive our days without talking to our friends or family and we surely use our devices to communicate with them, at least while we’re walking down the street or waiting for our train to arrive.
Since about two years ago, everyone started using WhatsApp, with more than 150 million users and lots of millions of daily messages you can’t even process in your mind. It seems that the alternatives, although being even better in terms of services and functionality, will never be able to compete against WhatsApp, which has dominated almost the entire world.
And I say almost because in 2011, LINE was created in Japan, an application that was born as a way of putting Japanese families and friends in contact after the earthquake that took place in march. With LINE, you can also chat with your contacts for free but it includes more features that I will later talk about. As stated, LINE was developed in 2011 and hasn’t stop growing since. A few months back, the app started becoming really popular among other countries and new users keep appearing every day.
Why is LINE cooler? It’s not the design, which is highly sophisticated and definitely more elegant than WhatsApp. It’s the stickers! LINE provides a few packs of image stickers featuring cute characters for all tastes, for every little action you could ever imagine. Those sticker packs can easily be downloaded and we’ll guarantee that you’ll spend a small part of the day browsing through them and sending the cutest ones to your beloved friends, having them sent others to you and hence passing the time by actually doing nothing.
In addition, there’s the LINE Cards, which allow users to send postcards with text and stickers, the LINE Camera and wonderfully designed puzzle games like LINE Pop, LINE Bubble, LINE Zookeeper and others that are as addictive as the application itself. It’s all advantages, really. And yes, people will continue using WhatsApp because it’s what we’re used to and man is a creature of habit, as we all know very well; but sometimes, when we feel like being extremely adorable, we might open the application, search for a random friend and send a series of stickers that might or might not brighten their day.
P.S You can use it in the computer, too.
